Holi Khele Raghuveera ....

Holi -  an amazing festival of colors. Another year and few more plans to hatch. Last time this time around, I was a bachelor, playing my last holi at Fremont Hindu Temple with my friends.  I did indeed not left anyone without colors who came to play Holi. A year later, the things changed drastically. It was funny and bright last time, there was no tsunami, no forecast for sandstorms, no radiation worries and above all, I was single.
This time it was more challenging. We decided to visit each and every friend we can cover in Fremont and neighboring areas. We woke up enthusiastically, all set in spirit of holi. It was raining, trying to drench our spirits to play holi, the single digit temperature failing to set us to our first destination.
Me , Anshu and Vaishu left for Nimi's place to be greeted by Nimi and Suhas. We had a wonderful time drenching ourselves in rain, colors , fun and the nature poured in with water. We had a lot of discussions where to play holi , inside their house or in open. We started out in open, and were joined by neighbouring lady. It all ended with chocolates, and a dinner invitation for next week. Giving people a 10 minute notice to be ready for Holi was fun to do .
Next we tried to call Karan, who was sleeping and didnt pick up the call. We proceeded to Jenifer's house, and had fun with the couple. Proceeded to play it with Raman and Manu. Then to Raman's mom place. Went out to Pooja's place , but she was also not in town.
We were hungry and so we had to eat something. The procession went ahead to Vineeta di and Raju's house . The reluctant people were not letting us in, but eventually the cold weather let them invite us in. It was followed by majestic display of colors. We had a nice lunch and wonderful reception of lunch.
We came back to our place and then got ready for dinner with Anjali and her husband. Had a lotta fun time and fittingly it ended with another splash of colors 1:30 AM ... 

Horoscope or HorrorScope

If someone just asks you, Are you Gemini, or Cancer , you will reply back. Yeah, can't you see I am best. Offcourse, I am Gemini. I have split personality which i carried for 25 years of my life. The features i boast of and the things I learnt to live with for those whom I didnt have an explanation. I like so many others read my next year fortune just to get this junk floating everywhere today. Your horoscope has changed. Suddenly I am a Taurus. The detailed list of new sunsigns are :

And another Ophiuchus dimension. So many of my friends just are new born babies, were possibly outcast at beginning of civilization. The only sign that represents a real man. All my prior understanding of a wonderful 12 sun signs is gone. Are all the astrologers who predict future were not able to predict that a new sign will come in existence soon. How can my astrologer be so sure of my cards in 2011 when he ceased to know I am no longer a gemini. 

It is upon us to either accept the new changes or keep on going the way it is. There might be a new column added to the existing 12 constellations. 13 constellations, even the destiny is against me, it seems. As much as I don't like that number, I don't like being pushed to believe new sun sign. I might accept someday that I am taraus, but the personality in me can't change overnight. It just can't change because the position of sun and earth have changed a fraction of second. I can on other hand do believe if its the way of life, and pretty sure , we will have many more zodiacs coming up the sky. Few more changes, and may be I will have my sign back since the position of sun , moon earth , the solar system and universe in itself keeps on changing. 

I might believe the scientists someday, but as of now and this year in particular , I am What I am , and Gods above make sure I get the taste of new sign for remaining 2 years. These astrologers also claim world will end in 2012, so the way I laugh off that concept, I will happily laugh over this one. Make sure you let horoscope be a horoscope and not let it become a horrorscope 

Monterey bay

It has been a dream too long to have a room by side of ocean, a beach just a few feet away and sleep in the sound of water. Go down the beautiful beach, listen to the music of water , watch the waves crash into each other and crumble to the madness of luxury entire sea has to offer, then go down and try to reach the farthest land it can , and still not touch the point it desires.
Monterey is 70 miles from Fremont, and is famous for its fishery and the coastline. More important , it is just an hour drive from Fremont. So all bags set and packed to go there.

We started off as usual in the lazy manner, with the target leaving time as 930 AM, we barely made out of bed by that time. We hit the road as late as 11:15 PM , and encountered heavy traffic. The initial drive to Big Sur was cut short by heavy traffic , and we decided to check in the hotel first. We got the room at 2:15 PM and drove directly to big sur, even without unloading. We did have a slice of food while waiting for the room keys. Big Sur.  The name "Big Sur" is derived from the original Spanish-language "el sur grande", meaning "the big south", or from "el país grande del sur", "the big country of the south".
The first point we crossed was bixby Creek Bridge, and we stopped for a couple of shots of the famous bridge. The entire drive was scenic and awesome for anyone who loves Sea. Different shades of water could be found nearly everywhere from lighest shade of blue to the darkest of green. The underwater life along with possible white sand and rocks gave it a majestic look. What looked from a distance was silent sea, protesting violently at the shore. And we moved on the final destination Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. We took a short trail to the national park which had one of the smallest but most popular waterfall I have seen, and possibly the only one not to have public access. It seems amazing how the supply of water in that tiny waterfall has persisted over the years.
 We then had a small photo session here and there, and planned to go either for 17 mile drive or Fisherman Wharf in Monterey enroute to Best Western Resort. The sunlight prompted us to go directly to the resort, for that majestic sunset we might just be able to watch. The decision worked perfectly fine as we were able to witness the majestic sunset. I had earlier seen Sunrise in Nandi Hills , and missed the opportunity to see famous Darjeeling sunrise in 2002 (still repenting it ), but this was not to be missed. captured the sun naked hand , and tried to stop it , but it just did not. I came to know one more thing, they lied. All those poets who claimed sun goes in sea lied. I was by the bay , the Pacific Ocean, and it still went behind the hills on the side. The pace it went down with made us wonder, is Earth rotating really that fast, or we were just so majestically enthralled in the experience that the time just flew by.
As it went down, all partners in crime just got few mice running in stomach, we have been traveling whole day with skipped meals, the small place had whole lot of options. You name the cuisine and it had it, from cheap to most expensive. We jumped into the new Infiniti and hoped it give us all the options , which it promptly did. I will skip the discussions what followed to decide what happened, but took another 20 minutes to finalize a venue , which we promptly discarded as soon as we saw the ambiance of the place . The dinner was then done at Round Table Pizza , followed with Ice Cream at Baskin Robins and played a handful of cards before we retired off to sleep for next day plans.

The Certified Psycho

This is me .. Deepak , and no less than any strange case of psycho. As Dipankar once said, There was nor ever will , a greater crack in the wall than you have in your head. and to which i responded , its not hole in the wall, but wall in the hole. and 3 years later, i try everything to certify as one. Losing the loved one , loving the lost one, trying to do a DDLJ , almost aping a kid , mowing down people on roads , meeting new and stylish accidents , mis-understanding myself , promising not to promise again, and breaking the promise once more , for once more i wanna live and tell all that its me who is me. I am not the one whom the God made to be just another, I am myself. I make my own rules , i insulate , i radiate and more importantly , i speak. You may not hear it if your eyes are closed , u may not understand if your mind is closed , and possibly if its open , nothing is left in it to understand. The same is with me , take life as it comes , plan , trip , tripover , drip , slip , fall , stand up, wear down , rise again , call friends , make friends , maintain old ones, casually tune up to serious life , no one still has managed to get out of it alive, but till the time you are reading this , you have managed to wade off the DEATH for now.

I was no wiser a person to leave India, I am no intellect even today , I want to work hard, I try to , but the memories are weak , and i dont remember. I tried things , put somethings on blog, set reminders , even resorted to drinking milk , yes mom , i did . But the brain gets older, not sharper. The effect of increasing technology can be easily found to have a lasting impact on me , i see each human as a robot now, and me as robo cop. I think i can do anything without doing nothing , no no , i mean i cant do nothing , if thats the way it is.

I have so many things to do, less than anyone else, but according to me , more than i can manage. If there was an upgrade for humans available, i would have spent all my earnings ( even though they are less than my month's salary ,considering i am working for last 150 years ) to get an upgrade. Atleast brain can react to something better than age of empires and websites. I remember certain song in which writer demands two hearts , i demand brains instead. If I was intelligent, and if i would have understood the things important to me then and there , if i was able to prioritize what not to do , if i was able to maintain one relation , if i was able to get back one school life, if i would have managed to come 1st in the class once, if ..... my God ... if you existed ... i would not be so clueless, i would not be such a danger , and more importantly , i would be me ... as i am ....
