Working at a MNC away from home ,
this last year when i will be here ...
for next time i will be in my hometown ...
with my mom dad and sis ....
finally i will go to a company near my home ...
went to home on a diwali vacation ...
told your parents you will be back soon ...
forgot the time when mummy was late at work ...
and you stare at the watch ....
now they do ,not the watch but calender ...
for this project be over and i will go home ...
for two months more , an onsite i got ...
will earn a million pound and give dad a luxury car,
But time is running round and getting very far ...
joined this company for a year or so ...
now the home is no no ...
have been to home this time have you ...
and cried lonely in deep nights before you left ...
think the rivers the mom and dad cry ....
for you would be there admist all trouble as life's dry ...
remember the shoes dad bought would last 2 years ...
the simple presence of his kill all the fears ...
have been to bus holding his fingers ...
he is waiting for you to hold it back ....
remember you promised love to sister .....
she is missing you , come back ...
few more years and she will go to new home ...
while you take 1 month break ....
are you still going back this year ....
think of all smiles , all pains all support family had ...
they need you more than this damn multinational can ...
life slips like sand in closed fists ...
dont plan for this year ...
dont stop for stamping ...
this year just dont be away from home ....
this year make your house back to a home ....
back to home , not away from home
hey this was really gr8... reminded me of the song chitti aayi hai...
ReplyDeletegud one!!

Well said :)
ReplyDeletePankaj
that was indeed a very heart touching poem indicating that our culture n love towards home still persists...well done...hope to see some more...
ReplyDeletewhen we weigh what we gained in life and what we lost...by studying well n earning high...
ReplyDeletethe results are not good :(
Heart touching is fine. But isn't that the reality of life? Generations of people have moved away from their parents and native places in search of work. Nothing new and our generation is definitely not the pioneer. We needn't stay with our parents but the love and respect is always there. And why do you forget? Traditionally girls have always left their parents once they got married. So what's new?
ReplyDeleteHey Deepak,
ReplyDeleteThat was a good one.
I wrote something similar called Techies We Are.
you can read that at http://aconfusedguy.blogspot.com/2007/07/techies-we-are.html
Ashish
@ Preeti - It has been a tradition. We cant stop that . Girls do go to next home but the point is time was when people moved away , in cities , nearby places ... now distances have become far.
ReplyDeletewriting with SE heart , and on behalf of parents. We have studied so much , how can we just forget the Things parents did for us. May be you can , but for me , that 5 rupee 5-Star carries much more worth than anything else which dad gave in morning sometimes. That pat on my back by my dad to do something good in class is still most cherished. Getting a CRR 1 , my dad will be proud , but may be I wont be having same pat. We might Hug each other , but that thing is missing cauz i will tell goodies over fone na ....
Lifes too short , and if u have 60 more years to yr life , your parents probably have half of it left. They spent the other half for you , they need u .... more than the money u send them
gr88888 work dude...keep it up :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent piece of work.
ReplyDeleteStaying miles away from home, when we read these kind of stuff, we really feel that we should go back home!

Most of the folks who are away from home will sync with you on your thoughts.
The industrial revolution has in a way wreaked hahoc of sorts.
